Criminal Case Opened for Desecrating the Russian Flag
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, has ordered a criminal case to be initiated regarding the desecration of the Russian flag during a music festival in Georgia. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
“Media reports indicate that during a music festival in the Republic of Georgia, one of the performers desecrated the state flag of the Russian Federation. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia has instructed investigators from the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia to open a criminal case to hold those responsible accountable in accordance with the law,” the statement reads.
Earlier, a video surfaced on social media showing a Georgian singer desecrating the Russian tricolor during a music festival in Tbilisi. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that Russian law enforcement agencies would provide an appropriate assessment of the situation.
