Alen Simonian on Violence Against Young Intruder on Football Field

The person who used violence against a young intruder on the football field, in my deep conviction, can no longer have a place in ensuring safety during any game—regardless of what the reason was. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonian.

“A person responsible for public safety bears such responsibility; either they should master their professional duties, or they should be held accountable. And, I reiterate, in my deep conviction, this incident should have specific consequences,” Simonian wrote.

It is worth noting that earlier, the fan movement “First Armenian Front” (FAF) released a statement indicating that the head of the Football Federation of Armenia's security used violence against a minor fan who entered the field. A video of the incident has also been published.
