Tensions Escalate on the Border as India-Pakistan Relations Deteriorate
The Indian army has announced that Pakistan has fired shots towards border outposts. This was reported by NDTV news channel. According to sources, Pakistan began firing along the Line of Control in certain areas last night. In response, Indian security forces retaliated with gunfire. It has been reported that there are no casualties or injuries.
The responsibility for the attack has been claimed by the "Resistance Front" group, which is linked to the terrorist organization "Lashkar-e-Taiba". In response, the security cabinet, led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has decided to reduce the staff at the Indian and Pakistani embassies from 55 to 30 personnel. New Delhi has demanded that Pakistanis who entered India through that checkpoint leave the country by May 1. Additionally, Indian authorities have banned Pakistani citizens from entering the country without a visa.
The Pakistani Defense Minister has stated that the world should be concerned about their conflict with India, saying, "The clash of two nuclear powers is alarming. If things go awry, this confrontation could have a tragic conclusion." It is worth noting that the gunfire occurred just days after a terrorist attack on tourists near Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people. This attack has triggered a new crisis between India and Pakistan.
