EU Refuses to Lift Sanctions Against Russia
The European Union is firmly refusing to lift sanctions against Russia in negotiations with the United States. This was reported by the Reuters agency.
The agency, citing diplomats, writes that the EU's position is that sanctions against Russia will remain in place until the negotiations are concluded. It was also noted that some ideas from Washington are not appealing to Moscow, particularly the fact that the U.S. "does not insist on Russia's demands for the demilitarization of Ukraine" and does not advocate for the deployment of European forces as part of future security guarantees for Ukraine.
