The Authority That Lacks a Normal Opposition Is Problematic: Simonyan
The authority that lacks a normal opposition is indeed problematic. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a briefing.
“Right now, we are moving toward street protests, returning to the hall with our own agenda, participating in sessions, but we aren’t in the hall, or we come in well but don’t participate in Q&A sessions. What is this? If new elections take place, they will say ‘vote for us,’ but we won’t go to the hall if we are in opposition. An authority that lacks a normal opposition is a problem, it’s bad and leads to stagnation. A normal opposition needs to work,” Simonyan stated.
