Property Tax for Homeowners to Increase, Says Sisak Gabrielyan
In the Republic of Armenia, property tax for homeowners of private houses, or what is commonly referred to as individual houses, will increase by 50 to 300 drams monthly for 51% of the population, that is, more than half. This was announced by Sisak Gabrielyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction in the National Assembly.
He presented the changes planned for 2026. "46% of residential properties, which is close to half of all apartments in Armenia, will be paying only 250-500 drams more monthly by 2026; however, the 0.67% will have to pay an amount equivalent to 50 drams or 250 drams more for common 'working poor' individuals (as defined by Tevdros Avetisyan from the Armenia faction) who will have expensive transport, expensive kindergartens, expensive asphalt, and expensive other infrastructures. There will be no equal conditions because you want the 'working poor' to continue paying the same amount for public transport as a part of that 0.67% pays for buses," he stated.
