I Never Use the Term Genocide: Mark Carney
Canada's Prime Minister and leader of the ruling Liberal Party, Mark Carney, has refused to label the situation in Gaza as genocide. "The situation in Gaza is horrific, but I never use the term genocide in politics, in order not to politicize the situation," the government leader stated during a televised debate ahead of the snap parliamentary elections.
Notably, during the debate, the leader of the opposition New Democratic Party, Jagmeet Singh, specifically called for the situation in Gaza to be recognized as genocide.
