They Forced Us to Fight Against Ukraine: Lavrov
NATO has lost its significance since the dissolution of the USSR and should have been dissolved long ago, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as reported by TASS.
“NATO is about a failed strategy. The issue of the dissolution of this alliance is still relevant. The problem is not only NATO; the Euro-Atlantic structure, the OSCE, has also failed to strengthen security and stability. Those who were unwilling to share the benefits of security provision have exploited these alliances. What they have succeeded in is inciting tension and the remilitarization of Europe, including Germany,” Lavrov stated.
According to Lavrov, President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly accused NATO of literally forcing the country to start a war in Ukraine.
