Space to be Launched with All-Female Crew
The American space company Blue Origin is set to launch a crew of six, consisting exclusively of women, into space on April 14. Among the space tourists is the company’s owner, billionaire Jeff Bezos’s fiancée, TV host Lauren Sanchez. This was reported by korrespondent.net.
As part of the New Shepard program, the mission will take the spacecraft to Earth’s orbit, with the entire flight lasting 11 minutes, 4 of which will be spent in microgravity.
The crew members include CBS News anchor Gayle King, civil rights advocate Amanda Nguyen, aerospace engineer Ayesha Bowe, pop singer Katy Perry, film producer Kerryann Flynn, and host Lauren Sanchez.
This will be the first space flight since 1963 with an all-female crew. The mission holds not only symbolic significance but also social importance, aiming to highlight the crucial role of women in the fields of science, space, and technology.
