The International Criminal Court in The Hague cannot initiate legal proceedings against Russian President Vladimir Putin while he remains in office. This was reported by Euronews, citing its sources.
According to the publication, the same legal principle applies to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Sources indicate that a trial in absentia could potentially take place, but only if Putin ceases his duties.
