Elder from Artsakh Claims I Was Born in Azerbaijan: Alen Simonyan
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, has addressed statements made by an elderly man from Artsakh on his Telegram page.
“This elderly man from Artsakh, with a very Armenian appearance and beard, claims that I was born on Azerbaijani territory, specifically 'in the third house behind the Aghdam executive committee,'” he wrote.
“He thinks that by spreading such things and insulting me, he will sow hatred against me or form some opinion. It is regrettable that there are people like this. Despite my paternal roots being several generations of Yerevanians, and my maternal side having roots in Lori, I see nothing wrong in being born in that mentioned or any other place.”
“As for who this individual from Artsakh is, and who sent him this text to convey, it is quite obvious. It is not clear whether he was paid with a thousand dram notes or two five-thousand dram bills. People like him are being activated now, yesterday, and tomorrow, trying to dismantle and explode the Republic of Armenia from within. Do not look at the Armenian people with one eye: what you did in Artsakh will not work in Armenia,” Simonyan emphasized.
