Ukraine has become a focal point of confrontation - Zakharova
Ukraine has become a focal point in the processes of rewriting history, and its independence has been linked by the West to a rejection of its roots, stated Maria Zakharova, the official representative of Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by RIA Novosti.
"Modern international processes are directly related to the rewriting of history, and Ukraine has unfortunately become a focal point of the clash of these two processes, a territory of conflict. When the past began to be forcibly rewritten and a new neo-colonial ideology was quickly and aggressively implemented in practice," Zakharova emphasized.
She noted that for Ukraine, independence and sovereignty are tied to a Western neo-colonial agenda, within which the country's citizens are expected to rewrite their own history and abandon their roots.
