Serious Blow to Consumers and Businesses Worldwide
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has announced on social media that the tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump represent a serious blow to consumers and businesses worldwide.
“Washington has announced the imposition of universal tariffs. This is a serious blow to consumers and businesses around the world,” von der Leyen stated.
It is noteworthy that earlier, the U.S. President had announced the introduction of 'reciprocal' tariffs on imported goods from other countries. Reports indicate that the basic minimum rate could be as high as 10%. Furthermore, the tariff rate will be determined differently for each state.
