This Has Nothing to Do with Putin: Peskov
The plans of U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Saudi Arabia in May are unrelated to Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian president, in a briefing with journalists.
Previously, Trump had announced that he might travel to Saudi Arabia in April or slightly later, which had earlier been mentioned as a possible venue for a meeting between the leaders of Russia and the U.S.
"These are purely the plans of the U.S. leader; they have nothing to do with Putin. Putin does not have such plans yet," Peskov said.
He noted that there is still no specificity regarding the date and location of a potential meeting between the presidents of Russia and the U.S.
Peskov also emphasized that the Russian side continues its communications with the Americans at various levels. "We keep engaging with the Americans at different levels, through various channels," he remarked.
