Tigran Khachatryan, Son of Former Minister Surik Khachatryan, Sentenced to Imprisonment
The Syunik region’s Court of General Jurisdiction has sentenced Tigran Khachatryan, the son of former Syunik governor Surik Khachatryan, to 4 years and 3 months in prison. This was reported by the newspaper "Zhoghovurd."
His attorney, Vahagn Keshishyan, mentioned in an interview with the media outlet that they will appeal the decision to the Court of Appeal of Armenia, where serious legal processes are set to take place.
It should be noted that Tigran Khachatryan has been charged with the illegal acquisition, possession, and transportation of military ammunition using his vehicle. Additionally, he is being accused of committing hooliganism and causing bodily injury to one individual under hooliganistic motives. The incident occurred on June 19, 2023.
Tigran Khachatryan was arrested on November 9, 2023, and was subsequently detained on November 13. On December 19, 2024, the detention measures applied to him were changed to alternatives.
