Entry and Exit Restrictions to be Imposed in Istanbul
The authorities of Istanbul province have announced entry and exit restrictions amid ongoing protests in the region. According to RIA Novosti, the governor's office stated, "Entry and exit to Istanbul province will be prohibited for individuals, groups, or vehicles that may participate in illegal actions, whether alone or together."
It is noteworthy that since March 20, protests have continued in Istanbul and other cities in Turkey in support of the arrested Istanbul mayor, Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is a member of the opposition Republican People's Party. İmamoğlu was detained on charges of corruption.
