We See Both Threats and Opportunities: Araghchi
The Iranian authorities will soon respond to U.S. President Donald Trump’s letter addressed to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This was announced by Abbas Araghchi, the deputy foreign minister of Iran.
“We will not conduct any negotiations under the conditions of pressure, threats, and the intensification of sanctions. The negotiations must take place on an equal basis. We will respond to Trump’s letter in the coming days,” he said.
Araghchi noted that Trump’s letter “contains threats,” but there are also “opportunities.” “We see both threats and opportunities,” emphasized the diplomat.
