Many Elements of Final Agreement on Ukraine Have Been Coordinated: Trump
US President Donald Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform that many elements of the "final agreement" regarding Ukraine have been coordinated, but there is still much to be done. Trump's statement came in the context of a phone call scheduled with Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 18.
“Tomorrow morning, I will speak with President Putin regarding the war in Ukraine. Many elements of the final agreement have been coordinated, but a lot remains to be done. Thousands of young soldiers and others are being killed. Every week, 2500 soldiers from both sides are lost, and this must end now. I look forward to my phone call with President Putin,” he wrote.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reminded that on March 13, US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff was in Moscow, where he met with Putin. “It was not a waste of time; he returned with some information, but we will know more tomorrow when the President speaks with Putin,” Rubio said.
Just hours earlier, speaking at the Kennedy Center in Washington, Donald Trump announced that negotiations regarding Ukraine have reached a "very critical phase." He expressed confidence that Russian authorities would agree to the US-proposed 30-day ceasefire. The Ukrainian authorities agreed to the American administration's proposal on March 11.
