Neither Russia Nor Ukraine Can Achieve Their Military Goals: Rubio
Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are impossible without concessions from both sides. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
According to him, negotiations are the only way to end the war, but any discussions—whether in business, trade, or politics—entail that parties must give up something and make concessions.
Rubio did not specify what these concessions should consist of but mentioned that they must become a subject of negotiations. "This must be part of the negotiations, but entering into these talks and making general statements that can give either side an excuse not to participate will not be beneficial," he stated.
The Secretary added that the war has no military solution, as neither Russia nor Ukraine can achieve their 'maximalist military goals.'
