New Information on the Health Condition of Pope Francis

Pope Francis, suffering from bilateral pneumonia, continues to remain in extremely serious condition, although he has not lost consciousness. The Holy See's press office reported that the 88-year-old pontiff has developed kidney failure.

"The Pope's condition remains extremely serious, although he has not experienced a recurrence of respiratory crises as he did the previous day. Some blood tests indicate initial mild kidney failure, which is now being monitored. High-flow oxygen therapy is ongoing through nasal tubes," the statement read.
