Why Trump Imposed Sanctions Against the ICC
Trump has imposed sanctions against the International Criminal Court (ICC), according to a statement from the White House press office.
“I, Donald Trump, have determined that the International Criminal Court, created by the Rome Statute, has acted unlawfully and without justification against the United States and our closest ally, Israel,” the document states.
The order indicates that the United States will take measures against those responsible for the ICC's violations. Some of these measures include blocking property and assets and restricting entry to the United States for ICC members and their families.
