Under Pressure from the Public, Authorities are Taking a Step Back: Marutyan
“Tigran Avinyan announced that the cost of one passenger transport is 150 drams, which means that under pressure from the public, the authorities are taking a step back,” said former Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan during a Facebook live broadcast.
According to him, the city authorities do not have any figures, there is no calculation behind such a decision, and the sole purpose is to rob the people. “This is not enough; they claim it will be effective until the end of 2025 and then may become more expensive again. I remind you that the public's demand is not 150 drams for one trip, but 100 drams. This demand and the boycott remain in force,” said Marutyan.
