Trump Promises Tax Breaks for Canada if it Joins the US
US President Donald Trump has promised serious tax breaks for Canada if the country joins the United States as the 51st state. “I would love to see Canada as the 51st state. Canadian citizens, if that happens, will receive very substantial tax reductions, as they are currently heavily burdened by taxes. You won’t have to worry about military and many other issues. You will have the best healthcare, much better,” Trump said to reporters during a visit to North Carolina.
The idea of incorporating Canada into the United States has been publicly raised by Trump before, but has consistently been rejected by Canada, which emphasizes its independence and national identity.
