Trial of Soldiers Killed in Barracks Takes Place in Tense Atmosphere

During a court session at the Sevan branch of the General Jurisdiction Court of Gegharkunik Province, a heated argument erupted between the defendant in the case, Captain Yeghishe Hakobyan, and the father of the deceased soldier Hayk Kirakosyan, Gabriel Kirakosyan. This session concerns the 15 soldiers who died in a military barrack in Azat village.

According to the Armenian Investigative Committee's statement, Captain Yeghishe Hakobyan brought gasoline in a 5-liter container to the barrack to use it as an adhesive. The gasoline was poured into a stove, which subsequently led to a fire that claimed the lives of 15 soldiers.
