Putin Congratulates Trump

“Moscow congratulates Trump on assuming office,” said Russian President Vladimir Putin during a security council meeting.

“Moscow is open to dialogue with the new U.S. administration regarding the Ukraine conflict. The goal should be not a short-term ceasefire, but a long-lasting peace based on respect for the legitimate interests of all peoples residing in this region,” Putin stated during the security council meeting.

“Russia is proceeding from the premise that dialogue with the United States will be built on the basis of equality and mutual respect,” he added.
