Let Me Invite You to Negotiations: Fico to Zelensky
The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, has proposed to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss the transit of gas through Ukraine. The relations between the two countries have deteriorated after Kyiv refused to extend the gas transit agreement with Russia. This was reported by RBK.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico could meet at the border of the two countries to discuss the gas transit issues from Russia. Fico made this proposal in an open letter addressed to Zelensky.
“Let me invite you to negotiations,” Fico wrote, noting that the meeting could take place in Slovakia. He reminded that it is “symbolic” that Slovakia is accessible from Kyiv by a direct train to Košice, which is “the result of joint efforts by the governments.”
