We Are in the Discussion Phase of Proposals from Several Countries: Minister of Territorial Administration on Nuclear Power Plant Construction
At the end of last year, by the relevant decision of the government, a new organization is being established under the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, which will be responsible for determining the final model of the nuclear power plant and overseeing construction works, including the preparation of technical specifications until the plant is handed over for operation.
This was stated by the newly appointed Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, at a press conference.
“There is already an approved budget, a schedule, and we will make staffing additions in the near future. We are doing our utmost to meet the deadlines, which heavily depend on the model we choose, as there are significant temporal differences in the construction of these models. I mentioned that we are discussing proposals not only from Russian but also from other countries for nuclear power plants, and the final decision has not yet been made. The final proposal must come from the organization that was established by the decision at the end of the year, and we will also be making staffing additions there soon,” said the minister.
