Tigran Khachatryan is Accused of an Act that Does Not Suggest Pretrial Detention, Attorney Says
Lieutenant General Tigran Khachatryan's arrest motion should not have been presented at all. This was stated by lawyer Armen Andrikyan in a conversation with journalists.
"We are dealing with an alleged crime committed out of negligence, which is a medium-level crime. An arrest motion should only be presented when there is a clear justification," he said.
According to him, the investigative body has made assessments of Tigran Khachatryan's activities that "do not correspond to reality."
"The charge was filed based on Article 550, Part 3 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to official negligence. The third part is an aggravating circumstance as this so-called crime was committed during a state of war. Mr. Khachatryan does not accept the charges," he noted.
The lawyer also pointed out that Tigran Khachatryan has had the status of a witness in the case and has provided testimony.
