Fighting at the Afghanistan-Pakistan Border

Fighting has broken out at the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, reports TASS citing Ariana News. The Afghan Ministry of Defense, under the control of the Taliban in Kabul, announced that "several points, including centers and hideouts of criminal elements and their supporters, from which attacks have been organized in Afghanistan, have received retaliatory fire from the southeast of the country."

According to sources, light and heavy weaponry were used during the clashes, claims Ariana News. On December 24, the Taliban's Ministry of Defense reported that Pakistani armed forces had struck a region in Paktika province. The ministry condemned the actions of the Pakistani side, emphasizing that they violate international norms and do not resolve any issues. The ministry assured that the incident "will not go unanswered."

A blast in Paktika city resulted in at least 50 deaths and another 40 injuries. The airstrikes by the Pakistan Air Force on targets in Afghanistan were the second of this year, following similar attacks on terrorist bases in the country in March.
