Galoyan Addresses Cases of Violations of Journalists' Rights
I believe that journalists' rights are quite well protected, but at this moment we are developing a legislative package related to the media. This was stated by Justice Minister Surbhi Galoyan during a conversation with reporters after a government meeting, addressing the cases of violations of journalists’ rights.
“Media representatives will have the opportunity to be present during the discussions of the development of this legislative package. It aims to regulate the market and resolve existing issues,” the minister said.
In response to a question about the fact that press conferences with government members have been held outdoors for the last few years, and that they cannot move freely in the National Assembly, with some spokespersons ignoring unwanted journalists, Galoyan noted, “If you have legislative initiatives related to improvement, I suggest we discuss them together so that your rights are better protected.”
