Protests Against Government Begin in Tel Aviv
Thousands of Israelis participated in an anti-government rally in central Tel Aviv on Saturday evening, chanting slogans for the protection of democracy and calling for a deal to free hostages from the Gaza Strip, reported a correspondent from РИА Новости.
The protest is taking place near a complex of government buildings, including the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense. Emergency medical teams and police forces are present at the scene, blocking traffic in the area of the demonstration and setting up barriers to prevent potential disturbances and the closure of adjacent highways, which has occurred several times during previous protests.
In 2023, social activists named this location “Democracy Square.” Subsequently, Israelis have protested en masse against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government and judicial reforms.
