Joining Any Organization Will Be Meaningless for Georgia - Kavelashvili
The elected President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, stated in an interview with the Imedi TV channel that Georgia's membership in any organization would be meaningless if the country abandons its values and traditions.
"If we do not have our values, character, culture, language, faith, and defense of our homeland, what is the point of joining any organization? We want to become a member of the European Union as we are; we do not refuse integration," said Kavelashvili.
At the same time, according to him, Georgia's authorities are open to discussing any issues; however, there is a lack of mutual willingness from the West to engage in dialogue, with only criticism being present. Recently, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the issue of the country's EU membership will be removed from the agenda until 2028.
