No one in Armenia can say that's not true, I will prove it: Pashinyan
If we pave or tile any road, the prices of all houses located on that road increase. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting.
“When we say that the money spent from the budget is part of every family's household budget, a person sitting at home does not notice any changes in his life, but the value of his house, his capital is growing. I cannot say how much it increases. Let's say a house costs 500 thousand, but as a result of road repairs, it becomes 510, 520, 530 thousand. It is obvious that it is increasing. When a water pipeline is built, the prices of all houses in the village increase. When a kindergarten is built, the prices of all houses, plots, everything in the village increases. We need to tell people how all this works; they do not know this,” Pashinyan said.
“Yes, a person sees that I used to walk through mud, and now I don’t, so it’s good, but that’s not all. Previously, a house worth 500,000, I’m using a conditional number to ensure it’s not said that the prices for village houses have also skyrocketed to millions, now, without any additional investment, you live in a house that is worth 550,000. The money that is returned by the budget goes directly into that person’s pocket,” he elaborated.
According to Pashinyan, the state budget is a family budget.
“There is no one in Armenia who can say that it's not true. I will prove that it is part of their family budget. It is related to how much your shoes wear out on that road and that road, and how often you have to buy or not buy shoes, how frequently you have to repair your car when using pothole roads. It doesn’t matter if you repair it with a craftsman or do it yourself, because in any case, you have to acquire some parts, and your work also has a value,” Nikol Pashinyan noted.
