Iran's Armed Forces Issue Statement
The Armed Forces of Iran have announced that four terrorists have been neutralized as a result of counter-terrorism operations. General Ahmad Shafahi, a representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces' Quds Headquarters, also reported the death of one Iranian serviceman. This information has been reported by RIA Novosti.
It was announced earlier that the Sunni group known as Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice), which is recognized as a terrorist organization, has claimed responsibility for a terrorist attack on October 26 in the city of Taftan (Sistan and Baluchistan province) that resulted in the deaths of 12 police officers.
According to Shafahi, during military exercises in the Rasak region, a firefight occurred, during which four militants were killed. In the operation, a vehicle and a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition were also seized.
One day prior, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Israel maintains connections with Middle Eastern terrorist groups, including Jaish al-Adl, which conducts coordinated attacks on Iranian security forces and state institutions in the Sistan and Baluchistan province, bordering Pakistan.
As a result of operations carried out in this region, 20 militants have already been arrested and 12 have been killed, while a large quantity of weapons, including American-made arms, has been seized from the detainees.
The Sistan and Baluchistan province, located in southeastern Iran and bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan, frequently appears in headlines due to the deaths of border patrols fighting against drug trafficking and terrorism.
