Tigran Balayan Receives Threats and Insults from Azerbaijani Ambassador: Armenian Foreign Ministry
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Paruir Hovhannisyan has confirmed that Armenia's Ambassador in Belgium, Tigran Balayan, has received threats from the Azerbaijani ambassador.
“According to the information we have, threats and insults were made during the reception, which we reported to the Belgian side officially, as well as to the European Union. An investigation is currently ongoing regarding this matter,” Hovhannisyan stated.
It is noteworthy that Politico reported that Tigran Balayan faced a “verbal attack and intimidation” from Azerbaijani Ambassador Vaqif Sadigov, who allegedly made “open threats against his life.”
