Putting Oil on Fire Will Bring No Benefit: UN Security Council Statement
Members of the UN Security Council have urged Israel and Iran to cease their cycle of attacks against each other following Israel's retaliatory strikes against Iran, according to voanews.com.
“All parties must exercise restraint. Adding more fuel to the fire during this escalating violence will bring no benefit,” said British Ambassador Barbara Woodward.
Iran's foreign minister had requested an emergency session of the UN Security Council on Saturday following Israeli airstrikes, which were in response to Iran firing approximately 200 ballistic missiles towards Israel on October 1.
