74-Year-Old Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill Trump
A man has been arrested in the U.S. for allegedly making threats to kill former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump, according to WTAJ TV. The 74-year-old Paul Gavanosis has been charged with making terrorist threats and disorderly conduct following comments he allegedly made towards Trump while obtaining a parking ticket.
It has been reported that a witness expressed concern that the suspect might approach the former president during his campaign rally in Pennsylvania on October 26, potentially putting his life at risk. According to the TV channel, Pennsylvania police and the U.S. Secret Service have already questioned the arrested individual, who initially claimed that the threats were made as a joke but later confessed he could try to kill Trump.
It should be noted that Trump has faced two assassination attempts during his 2024 campaign. On July 13 in Pennsylvania, Trump was injured in the ear during an assassination attempt that resulted in one audience member being killed, and two others were wounded. The armed suspect had hidden on the roof of an industrial building 100 meters from the scene and was neutralized by a Secret Service sniper.
The second assassination attempt against Trump occurred on September 15 at his golf club in Florida. According to law enforcement officials, Secret Service agents opened fire on an intruder who had hidden in the bushes. The man fled and attempted to escape by vehicle but was apprehended.
