"Trying to Increase Pressure on Azerbaijan" - Zakharova
Efforts by Western powers to exert pressure on Azerbaijan over various issues, including climate change, are futile and unprecedented, stated Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing.
“Azerbaijan has faced pressure multiple times over various issues. This is not only about the principled stance on the inadmissibility of exerting pressure on sovereign states, but also about the fact that the topic of climate change requires genuine involvement from specialists. It should not be just another political weapon that the U.S. uses to strike at everyone’s head in order to promote a solution favorable to itself. Such tactics by the U.S. are a classic trick that is repeated year after year leading up to the COP climate conference. We saw the same thing leading up to the 2022 conference in Sharm El Sheikh, and then last year in Dubai. And now we see that under a fabricated pretext, they are trying to increase pressure on Azerbaijan,” said Zakharova.
