Andranik Kocharyan on Suicides in Military Units
A working discussion will be held in the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security regarding incidents of suicides and killings in the Armed Forces. This was announced by the committee's chairman, Andranik Kocharyan, during parliamentary hearings on the topic of "The state of crime in Armenia from 2019 to 2024 and the results of reforms."
"We will organize a working discussion within the committee that pertains to the Armed Forces and the painful incidents occurring there, for which no solution has been found. We know the reasons, but finding solutions depends on the successes recorded as a result of reforms in the Armed Forces. Today, the institution of 'watchers' in military units has been abolished, yet suicides continue to accompany us. This is not only concerning; finding solutions to this issue is one of our primary objectives," said Kocharyan.
