We Must Prepare for War: Lukashenko
Belarus must further strengthen its defense capabilities and prepare for a possible war. This statement was made by the country's president, Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground, as reported by BELTA.
"The old formula is: if you want peace, prepare for war. I want to emphasize once again (though why should we justify ourselves before anyone), that we are not planning to go to war, we do not want to go to war... this has already been stated. This is heard, but our adversaries, our competitors are doing their job. Those who are preparing against us, we will speak directly, we will fight. Therefore, we must prepare for war. And God forbid, that this war does not happen," said the head of state.
At the same time, he noted that Belarusian authorities do not yet observe any signs of a war starting against the country, although the situation remains tense. Lukashenko also mentioned that against the backdrop of conflicts in Ukraine and other parts of the world, Belarus has already reformed its army four times in recent years.
The President of Belarus has repeatedly accused neighboring countries, specifically Poland, of increasing troops at the border and called for preparation for possible conflict.
