PHOTOS: Looting in Stepanakert Captured by Satellite Imagery
Satellite images have recorded hundreds of incidents that reveal the looting of the city of Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh. This information is reported by Bellingcat.
The vast number of garbage piles can be seen next to empty high-rise apartment buildings and civilian houses. The city has been deserted since the mass displacement of the ethnic Armenian population of Artsakh in September 2023.
The mapping of garbage piles illustrates the scale of the looting of homes belonging to peaceful residents in the city. Considering the satellite evidence of the city's looting, Bellingcat reached out to the authorities in Azerbaijan for comments, but they did not respond.
