The Israeli strikes on Lebanon pose a complete destabilization threat in the Middle East. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia.

Since Monday morning, the Israeli aviation has begun massive strikes on southern and eastern areas of Lebanon. Dozens of villages and several regional settlements have come under attack. In response, fighters from the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah have fired dozens of rockets toward northern Israel. The Lebanese government has urged the UN to intervene in the situation.

“This is, of course, an event that is extremely dangerous related to the expansion of the conflict zone and the overall destabilization of the region. Naturally, this is very concerning for us,” Peskov replied to reporters when asked how the Kremlin assesses the Israeli strikes.
