Calls for Macron's Resignation
Mass protests are taking place in France by supporters of left-wing parties. The protesters are expressing dissatisfaction over the appointment of the leftist coalition "Nouveau Parti Populaire" candidate as Prime Minister, demanding President Macron's resignation.
According to the actu.fr portal, the protests have already begun in Nantes, Le Mans, and Nice. Participants accuse Macron of a "violent coup" and "election theft," as he has rejected the program of the "Nouveau Parti Populaire," despite the fact that coalition parties have gained more seats in parliament than the presidential majority and the right-wing "Rassemblement National" party.
The appointment of centrist representative Michel Barnier as Prime Minister has also led to outrage, as his party only secured fourth place in the elections. Le Figaro reports that law enforcement is concerned about potential disturbances involving radical elements.
