This Year, Lake Sevan's Water Level Decreases the Least: New Data
During July-August, the decline in the water level of Lake Sevan in 2024 marked the lowest value in the past 15 years. The water level of Lake Sevan exhibits a well-defined internal trend, rising from the third decade of February until the first decade of July, and subsequently starting to decline due to increased evaporation.
The largest drop in the lake's level occurs during the months of August and September. Between 2010 and 2023, the average decrease in the lake's water level during July and August was 18 cm, while in 2024, it decreased by only 5 cm during the same period.
