Khamenei Comments on Durov's Arrest
The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has commented on the arrest of Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger. Khamenei discussed Durov's arrest during a meeting with new government officials.
“The management of cyberspace is everywhere. You saw that this poor young man (Pavel Durov) was arrested in France and threatened with 20 years in prison. This shows that they have violated the rules,” said Khamenei.
It should be noted that Telegram has been banned in Iran for more than 6 years.
