Grossi Arrives in Kurchatov to Inspect Kursk Nuclear Power Plant
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has arrived in Kurchatov, Russia, where the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant is located. This was reported by TASS.
Grossi had previously considered the threat of damage to the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant very serious due to the actions of the Ukrainian armed forces.
He announced plans to visit the plant to discuss with its management and ascertain whether the facility had come under attack.
The IAEA has stated that military activity in the vicinity of the nuclear power plant poses a serious threat to nuclear and physical safety.
Reports indicate that the trip to the Kursk NPP will ensure timely access to an independent assessment of the situation.
