Iran is Seriously Preparing to Attack Israel
Iran is preparing to strike Israel, and the movement of missile launchers indicates that it may carry out an assault in the coming days, while the US is urging Tehran not to escalate the conflict, confirms the Wall Street Journal, citing American officials.
“Over the weekend, officials began monitoring how Iran is moving missile launchers and conducting military exercises, which may suggest that Tehran is preparing to execute an attack in the coming days,” the report states.
Sources reveal that senior US officials have called on Tehran to avoid exacerbating the conflict and are seeking support from Arab countries on the matter.
Late Monday evening, IRNA agency reported that explosions were heard in the southern regions of Isfahan. The political, security, and societal affairs deputy of the Isfahan governor, Mohammad Reza Jan-nasr, stated that the sounds of explosions in Isfahan were related to the conducting of military exercises, which was later confirmed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Iran's elite military unit.
On Wednesday, the Palestinian HAMAS movement announced the death of its political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh, as a result of an Israeli strike on his residence in Tehran, where he had arrived to attend the inauguration of Iran's new president. The movement attributed Haniyeh's death to Israel and the United States, declaring that the attack would not go unanswered.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated that he had nothing to say regarding Haniyeh's death and Israel's involvement. Israeli military representatives, in turn, stated that they “do not respond to media reports” regarding Haniyeh's assassination.
Jerusalem Post reported that Israeli authorities have instructed officials not to speak about the assassinations of leaders. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov called Haniyeh's death an absolutely unacceptable political assassination, which threatens to escalate tensions in the region further.
