Modric Becomes Euro Championship Record Holder
Croatia's national team captain Luka Modric has scored a goal in the Euro 2024 group stage match against Italy. At the age of 38 years and 289 days, he has become the oldest footballer to score in a European Championship match. He surpassed the record of Austria's Ivica Vastic, who was 38 years and 257 days old when he scored against Poland in Euro 2008.
Modric was also named the best player of the match against the Italian national team.
