Correction on Rumors of a Brawl at Armavir Penitentiary
The Ministry of Justice of Armenia has announced that no brawl or fistfight occurred at the Armavir penitentiary facility. This information was released by the Ministry's Penitentiary Service (PS).
In the announcement, it is stated, “In connection with the aforementioned issue, we inform you that the information presented in the article does not correspond to reality; no brawl or fistfight has occurred at the Ministry of Justice's Armavir penitentiary.”
It was also noted that Edik Andryan, head of the Operational Directorate of the Penitentiary Service, was discharged from his position on June 18 due to retirement after many years of service. Earlier, the newspaper ‘Hraparak’ reported that a major brawl had taken place at the Armavir penitentiary, following which a department head was dismissed from their position.
