Charges Filed Against 3 Participants in Clash Near Foreign Ministry, 2 Arrested, 1 Under House Arrest
Investigation has established that during a demonstration organized within the framework of the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement on May 31, 2024, around 16:00, a group of individuals, including 27 and 20-year-old residents of Vayots Dzor and a 39-year-old resident of Syunik, displayed disrespectful behavior towards society and a blatant disregard for legal and moral norms.
Ignoring the police's requests for proper conduct and to maintain public order, they used obscene language and insults, and threw bottles and various objects towards the officers of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs and the building of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
This information has been reported by the Investigative Committee. The RA Investigative Committee stated that based on sufficient evidence, charges have been filed against the aforementioned three individuals under the first part of the second paragraph of Article 297 of the RA Criminal Code. Two of them have been remanded in custody, while one has been placed under house arrest.
The cases against them have been separated for individual proceedings. The preliminary investigation has concluded, and the materials of the criminal case, with the indictment, have been sent to court.
